Former George Mason standout Robby Jacobsen was selected last month to the All-CAA second team as a utility player. On Monday, he was named to two more all-star teams at two different positions. The catcher/outfielder was selected to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-East second team as an outfielder while being named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) All-State second team as a catcher.

Jacobsen played in all 51 games for the Patriots in 2006, starting 30 games in the outfield and 21 at catcher. Jacobsen led Mason in batting average, hits, at-bats, home runs, RBI, doubles, runs and steals and was nearly perfect in the field. For the season, he batted .326 (71 for 218) with 11 homers, 16 doubles, 37 RBI, 42 runs scored while successfully stealing 20 bases on 24 attempts. He made just three errors and finished the year with a .988 fielding percentage.

Jacobsen finished his four-year career among the top-10 all-time at Mason in games started, at-bats, runs, hits, doubles, home runs, RBI, stolen bases and total bases. He is one of just two players in George Mason history to finish his career with 200 hits, 50 doubles, 30 home runs and 50 steals.

Jacobsen was selected in the 22nd-round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft last month by the Washington Nationals. He is currently playing Rookie ball in the Gulf Coast League where he has appeared in all 15 games. A true utility man, he has taken up a new position, playing first base. He is currently batting .236 (13 for 55) with four RBI, five runs and one steal.
