Fairfax, Va.--George Mason University's men's soccer team is ranked for the first time in more than four years in the College Soccer News National Poll at the No. 29 spot.

The Patriots own an overall record of 8-2 and a flawless 4-0 mark in the Colonial Athletic Association to sit first in the conference with 12 points. Mason has won seven straight games and six of its eight wins have been shutouts. Freshman goalkeeper Sean Kelley (Lexington, Ky.) has been in net the entire season and currently ranks 22nd in the nation in save percentage (.844) and 25th in goals against average (.693).

"Being ranked in College Soccer News poll says a lot about where Mason's men's soccer program is heading," said head coach Greg Andrulis. "It also gives recognition to this team for all their hard work through 10 games. It is exciting to see Mason ranked, but we still have to focus on the remainder of the season and continue to build on the success that we have had up until this point."

Sophomore Chris Carroll leads the Patriots in goals with three, two of which he scored against Georgia State on Oct. 1 in Atlanta, Ga. Senior midfielder Josh Fleming (Fairfax, Va.) and junior Adam Lobene (Lockport, N.Y.) each also have six points as they both own two goals and two assists through 10 contests.

Old Dominion is the only other CAA school to be ranked in the top-30 as the Monarchs sit 11th with an overall record of 8-2 (3-1 CAA).

The Patriots will return to action when they host Delaware (4-3-2, 2-2) on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.
