WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - George Mason won its second consecutive match, downing the William & Mary Tribe in three games in Colonial Athletic Association women's volleyball action on Friday night at Kaplan Arena in Williamsburg, Va.

With the victory, the Patriots improve to 7-13 and 4-10 in conference play, while the Tribe fall to 8-13 and 5-9 in CAA matches with the loss. The two teams split the season series, as Mason lost a heartbreaker to William & Mary on Sept. 23 at John Linn Memorial Gym in five games.

This time around, the Patriots won a close first game 30-28 when freshman Katie Corcoran set up senior middle blocker Chantal Bodkin-Clarke for the final kill. After the first game, Mason never looked back, cruising to an eight-point win in the second game, and closing out the match with a five-point win in the final game.

Both Jaqueline Kohler and Rebecca Walter posted double-doubles in the match. Kohler had 16 kills and 10 digs while Walter had 11 kills and 12 digs. Corcoran led all players with 40 assists. Freshman middle blocker Laura Turner had a big day at the net for the Patriots with seven total blocks, including two solos.

The Tribe were led by Sarah Long's 14 kills, Kim Mount's 30 assists and Kathleen Hawley's 17 digs. Mount also had 12 digs in the match for a double-double.

George Mason will attempt to extend their winning streak to three matches tomorrow when they play the VCU Rams at 5 p.m. in Richmond, Va. The Patriots won the first meeting between the two schools on Sept. 22 at John Linn Memorial Gym.
