Williamsburg, Va.--George Mason University's men's soccer team (10-3-1, 6-1-1 CAA) tied with William & Mary (6-7-3, 1-3-3) by a score of 0-0 Sunday afternoon in Williamsburg. With a Towson win over Old Dominion, Mason remains in second place in the conference.
Sophomore Chris Carroll led the Patriots in shots for the second game in a row with three, one of which was a shot on goal. Senior Josh Fleming, sophomore defender Michael Vallie and senior defender Jacob Weitz each ended the contest with two shots.
Freshman goalkeeper Sean Kelley was in net the entire 110 minutes and did not tally any saves as there were no shots on goal from the Tribe. William & Mary's Brennan Wergley collected four saves on the afternoon.
Mason had a 14-6 advantage on shots, including seven to the Tribe's three in the first half and the Patriots had a slight advantage on corner kicks, 6-5.
Mason will return to action when the Patriots travel to Richmond to face Virginia Commonwealth on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.
