Fairfax, VA (September 18, 2005)--The George Mason women's soccer team rebounded from their home loss on Friday with a 3-1 win against East Tennessee State University on Sunday afternoon at George Mason Stadium. The Patriots improve to 4-3 on the season.

The Patriots played the majority of the first half on the offensive half of the field, and out-shot the Bucs 12-3, but managed only a 1-1 tied at the end of the period. The second half proved to be more productive, notching two goals on six shots.

ETSU drew first blood, scoring early in the 5th minute with a Rebecca Murray goal past starting goalkeeper Olivia Brown (Des Moines, Wash./Highline) off a Buc's corner kick. The Patriots controlled the ball for most of the half, but didn't score until the 43rd minute as Jessica Paris (Clifton, Va./Centreville), notching her second goal of the season, answered with a lob over goalkeeper Erin Bilyeu. Sophomore Rachel Wiggins (Acworth, Ga./Darlington) was credited with the assist, her second assist of the season.

Once again Mason split goalkeeper time with Kasey Davenport (Williamsburg, Va./Walsingham Academy) entering in the second half for Brown. The Bucs didn't score on Davenport, who recorded her first decision of the season with the win.

Sophomore Sarah Fack (Algonquin, Ill./H.D. Phillips) scored back-to-back goals in a span of two minutes in the second half, her second and third of the season, to give the Patriots the win. The first goal was scored as the ball rebounded off a Bucs' player from three yards out in the 56th minute and the second a kick into the left side of the net from 12 yards out, assisted by Nilani Duarte (Costa Mesa, Calif./Costa Mesa).

Mason attempted 18 shots with a team-high three from Fack and Amy Alecci (Cockeysville, Md./Notre Dame Prep). The teams 10 shots on goal were dispersed among six players, including three from Fack.

The women will travel to Philadelphia on September 21 for a 3 p.m. match before returning home for a double-header with the men on Saturday against Towson at 5:30. Alumni from the 1985 NCAA Championship team will be on hand on Saturday to commemorate the 20th anniversary.
