Mason Men's Soccer adds Two Local Players

Fairfax, Va (August 3, 2005)--George Mason University's head men's soccer coach Fran O'Leary has announced that two student-athletes have committed to attend and play for George Mason University, starting in the 2005 season. Mason's roster has now added nine new faces since last season.

The athletes, both from nearby Maryland, are Lucas Pardew (F, 5-10, 165, Parkton, Md./Calvert Hall College H.S.) and R. Jeffers Frazier (MF/F, 5-11, 140, Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert H.S.).

"Jeffers is a strong, hard working player who brings a lot of energy to the field," said O'Leary. "Lucas is a strong forward who can be a handful for opposition defenders. I am very happy to be able to add both to the squad."

Lucas Pardew (F, 5-10, 165, Parkton, Md./Calvert Hall College H.S.) Four year varsity letter-winner in soccer and track at Calvert Hall... Helped lead the Cardinal to two MIAA League Championships during sophomore and junior seasons... Team was runner-up his senior season... Club team, the Shakedowns won the Region I Tournament this summer... Pardew is a member of the 4x200 track team at Calvert that holds the MIAA record.

R. Jeffers Frazier (MF/F, 5-11, 140, Prince Frederick, Md./Calvert H.S.) Four year varsity letter-winner in soccer and wrestling at Calvert High School... Captained both the soccer and wrestling teams for the Cavaliers... Leading scorer on the soccer team three years... Named all-County four straight years in soccer, including two MVP awards... Named to all-state team as a senior... Named all-conference for three straight years and all-met two times... Successful on the mat as a wrestler, garnering all-state honors one year and all-met two years... He placed third in state wrestling twice.
