Men's Volleyball Wins Second Straight on the Road

NEWARK, NJ - After being down 2-0 going into the third game, Rutgers-Newark wasn't able to maintain a 10-4 lead, losing in three straight games to nationally 13th-ranked George Mason in a key EIVA Tait match in The Golden Dome. The Patriots won by the scores of 30-24, 30-26, 30-28.

The Scarlet Raiders saw their three-match winning streak snapped and dropped to 8-6 overall and 5-2 in the EIVA Tait.

Sophomore outside hitter Eric Honsberger (Lancaster, NY/Lancaster Central) led the team with 12 kills while senior Ben Bostaph (Kenmore, NY/Kenmore West) had four total blocks.

After tonight's win, George Mason (12-2, 6-1 EIVA Tait) is now in second place in the EIVA Conference standings. They were led by freshman Hudson Bates (Richmond, Va./Monacan) with 17 kills. Junior Matt Steinfurth (Portsmouth, VA/Woodrow Wilson) and Bates both knocked down seven blocks.
