THE SERIES: George Mason leads Hofstra
in the all-time series by a narrow 5-3 margin.
This afternoon's contest is the fourth
meeting at Hofstra Arena between these two
teams where the Patriots are 1-2 against the
Pride and have lost two straight in
Hempstead. The Pride won last year's contest
at home, 67-57.
In the overall series, George Mason
swept the regular season as the Patriots met
Hofstra for the first time ever in 2001-02. The
Pride then won back-to-back contests over
Mason, winning at the 2002 CAA Championships
and in the first meeting of the 2002-
03 season.
The teams have split the season series
the past two years with each winning on its
home court. Mason won the first meeting
this year 94-78
on Jan. 26 at the Patriot Center.
