George Mason, winners of three straight and seven of its last eight games, visits Va. Commonwealth Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. in a battle for third-place in the Colonial Athletic Association standings. The Patriots (14-9, 9-5 CAA) are looking to avenge an earlier loss this season to the Rams (13-10, 9-5 CAA) who have won two of their last three contests.

THE SERIES: Virginia Commonwealth leads George Mason in the all-time series, 21-12.
Monday evening's contest is the sixth meeting at the Siegel Center between these two teams where the Patriots are 1-4 against the Rams and have lost four straight, including an 80-56 setback last season.
Mason, which is 3-13 overall versus the Rams in Richmond and has lost five straight, last won in the capital city on Jan. 22, 2000 when the Patriots defeated VCU 76-63 at the Siegel Center.
Va. Commonwealth has won five of the last six meetings and owns a 7-3 edge in the series since the 2000-01 campaign.
Meanwhile, Mason has won nine of the past 16 contests, dating back to the 1997-98 season.
