Fairfax, Va.--George Mason University's men's soccer team (6-6-4, 2-3-4 CAA) was defeated by #7 Old Dominion (12-2-2, 7-1-1), 1-0, in a Colonial Athletic Association match-up Friday evening at George Mason Stadium.

ODU junior forward Ross Mackenzie scored the lone goal of the game at the 51:20 mark as he lofted it in the net off of a pass from junior midfielder Greg Mottinger.

Junior forward Josh Fleming (Fairfax, Va.) fired off a missile from the top of the box with about 10 minutes remaining in the game, but the Monarcks senior goalkeeper John Connelly was there to block the shot at the goal line to secure ODU's lead.

Freshman goalkeeper Eric Barnes (Aiken, S.C.) played all 90 minutes for the Patriots and tallied 12 saves, while Connelly collected five saves on the night.

The Patriots close up their regular home season on Sunday, Oct. 30 against William & Mary at 1 p.m.
