Fairfax, Va.--George Mason University sophomore forward Dan Ames (Livonia, N.Y.) was tabbed Brine Colonial Athletic Association Men's Soccer Player of the Week as announced by the conference office. This is the second conference honor for the Patriots this season as freshman Eric Barnes was named rookie of the week on Sept. 26.
Ames scored both game-winning goals this past weekend as Mason posted league road victories over Delaware (1-0) and Drexel (3-2). The sophomore broke a scoreless tie at Delaware with his first goal of the season in the 73rd minute to secure Mason's first conference win of the year. On Oct. 23, Ames gave the Patriots a 3-1 lead over the Dragons with 3:20 remaining which ended up as the game-winning goal.
Mason (6-5-4, 2-2-4 CAA) will return to action when the Patriots host Old Dominion on Oct. 28 (7 p.m.) and William & Mary on Oct. 30 (1 p.m.).
