George Mason hosts Colonial Athletic Association foe Va. Commonwealth Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at the Patriot Center. Mason (6-4, 1-0 CAA), which is 3-0 at home this season, looks to extend its 12-game Patriot Center win streak, while Jim Larranaga aims for his 130th men's basketball victory at Mason, tying John Linn for most head coaching wins.
Mason has been on the road for almost a month. The Patriots last played at home on Dec. 8 when the team defeated Iona, 70-65.

The Rams (4-6, 0-1 CAA), who have lost three in a row, are attempting to post their first road victory in six tries. VCU leads the all-time series, 20-12. Mason has won six of the last seven meetings in Fairfax, but the Rams have posted wins in four of the last five contests overall.
Wednesday's match will mark the 250th Mason men's basketball game played at the Patriot Center. George Mason is 7-8 since the 1989-90 campaign in its first game of the New Year. The Patriots are 7-0 in "New Year's" victories under Larranaga.
