George Mason hosts Drexel Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Patriot Center in CAA men's basketball action. The Patriots (7-7, 2-3 CAA), who have lost back-to-back CAA contests for the first time since Jan. 26 & 28, 2004, are hoping to end the skid at home where they are 48-6 against league opponents since 1998-99.

Jim Larranaga will become the winningest basketball coach in school history with a victory. He holds a 130-91 record in eight seasons at the helm of the program and will pass John Linn for all-time victories with a win.

Drexel (7-6, 3-2 CAA) has won three consecutive CAA matches after starting league play at 0-2. Four of the Dragons' five conference contests have been decided by three points or less.

George Mason leads Drexel in the all-time series, 6-2.

This evening's contest is the fifth meeting at the Patriot Center between these two teams where the Patriots are 4-0 against the Dragons.

Mason topped Drexel 75-72 in overtime last season at the Patriot Center, preventing a season sweep for the Dragons who defeated the Patriots 83-65 in Philadelphia earlier in the year.

In the overall series, Mason has won four of the last five meetings and had won three in a row until last year's 83-65 loss on Jan. 26.

The Patriots and Dragons met as non-conference opponents in 1999 and 2000, with George Mason winning both games (79-54 at the Patriot Center in 1999-2000 and 80-72 at the Daskalakis Center in 2000-01).
