The Patriots (7-6, 2-2 CAA) and the Monarchs (14-2, 4-0 CAA) clash for the 37th time with ODU leading Mason in the all-time series, 26-10.

This afternoon's contest is the 20th meeting in Norfolk between these two teams where the Patriots are 3-16. This is the third meeting at the Constant Convocation Center where Mason is 1-1 against the Monarchs. Mason defeated Old Dominion 70-66 last season on the Monarchs' "Senior Night" for its first victory at the Constant Center and its first win in Norfolk since 2002.

George Mason and Old Dominion have split the season series the past two years, but Mason has won four of the last six meetings and nine of the last 13 contests overall, including season sweeps in 1998-99 and 2001-02. Old Dominion last swept the season series from George Mason during the 1997-98 campaign.

Prior to Larranaga's arrival in 1997-98, the Patriots owned a 1-20 record against the Monarchs. Under his tutelage, Mason has gone 9-6 versus ODU.
