LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Freshman forward Sarah Fack (Algonquin, Ill.) netted the game-winner in overtime to propel George Mason (5-4-1) to a 1-0 women's soccer victory over Liberty (1-5-0) Saturday evening at Liberty Soccer Field.

The contest marked the third straight win for the Patriots - their longest streak of the season - and the fourth victory in their last five contests. The match also marked Mason's second overtime game of the year, having tied Navy 1-1 on Aug. 29.

With the win, George Mason has not been defeated in overtime in its last 14 matches, dating back to Oct. 19, 2001. Since then, the Patriots have gone 7-0-7 in overtime games, and set a school record in 2003 with nine OT contests, going 3-0-6 in those matches.

After playing to a scoreless tie in regulation, George Mason ended the game early in the OT when junior midfielder Danielle MacDonald (Burke, Va.) put a pass into the left side of the box, which Fack shot into the back of the net for the win in the 93rd minute of play. Fack's goal was the third of her career and her second game-winner.

In a tightly played match that was mostly contested at midfield, Patriot sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Brown (Des Moines, Wash.) notched her second career win, earning six saves in posting her first career solo shutout. Lady Flame netminder Natalie Mayer recorded two saves.

On the night, Liberty finished with 13 shots, while Mason totaled six. The Lady Flames also held a six to four advantage in corner kicks.

George Mason opens its Colonial Athletic Association slate at William & Mary Friday at 7 p.m. The final game of the Patriots six-game road swing is Sunday, Oct. 3, at CAA foe Old Dominion at 2 p.m.
