WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Freshmen forwards Sarah Fack (Algonquin, Ill.) and Rachel Wiggins (Acworth, Ga.) combined on two scores as the George Mason women's soccer team rolled past Texas Christian by a 3-1 margin at the Nike/Tribe Invitational Sunday afternoon at Albert-Daly Field. The Patriots improve to 3-4-1 on the season, while the Horned Frogs drop to 2-5-0.

In the eighth minute Wiggins drove deep down the right flank and sent a cross to the goal, where Fack volleyed home a left footed blast for her first collegiate goal to give George Mason the early 1-0 lead. The duo hooked up again eight minutes later with a carbon copy of the first goal, except Fack headed home Wiggins' cross from the right side.

The Horned Frogs trimmed the lead to one in the 79th minute as Jessi Moore tallied her fifth goal of the season with a blast from 16 yards out, but Mason answered exactly one minute later, as senior midfielder Franmarie Gregg (Fairfax, Va.) sent a pass to senior forward Sarah Wilkinson (Lincoln University, Pa.) in the box, who chipped in a shot over Horned Frogs goalkeeper Ashley Pierrett for the score and her fourth goal of the year, as George Mason won the contest 3-1.

Each team tallied six shots, and the Patriots had four corner kicks to just one for the Horned Frogs. Senior goalkeeper Sarah Coughlin (Hawthorne, N.Y.) made one save as the starting netminder for the Patriots. She played in the first half, while reserve sophomore goalie Olivia Brown (Des Moines, Wash.) saw action in the second period. Brown allowed one goal and stopped two shots. Pierrett had one save for TCU.

Mason returns to action Wednesday at 4 p.m. at area rival George Washington.
