Jess Strom (Munhall, Pa.) scored 12 points and dished out 10 assists for her second double-double of the year, but left the game in the second half after suffering a laceration above her left eye that required five stitches.

The game was also the second straight contest without head coach Rene Portland on the sideline, who is on an indefinite medical leave of absence. Associate Head Coach Annie Troyan, is serving as acting head coach in Portland's absence.

The Lady Lions held George Mason (1-3) to just 21.5 percent shooting in the game, including 17.1 percent in the second half. For the Patriots, Julie Flanders pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds, while Tracy Ann Holness picked up 13 points.
