George Mason (2-1) welcomes Towson (2-3) to the Patriot Center Wednesday evening in the Colonial Athletic Association opener for both teams.
Mason has won the last six contests overall and 13 of 14 meetings in the series. Wednesday's game is the sixth meeting at Patriot Center between these two teams where the Patriots are 5-0 over the Tigers. Mason has won the last eight games played in Fairfax, and is is 10-3 overall against Towson along Patriot Circle.
George Mason is 10-9 in CAA openers since the 1985-86 season, and 12-9 since the inaugural ECAC South (1983-84).
Prior to head coach Jim Larranaga's arrival, Mason had gone 4-8 in league openers, but has since won six of seven.
George Mason looks to continue its dominance at the Patriot Center over the past seven seasons as the Patriots are 68-11 at home overall during that span and 46-5 versus CAA foes, including two undefeated 8-0 seasons in 1998-99 and 1999-2000.
