Fairfax, Va.--Junior forward Teba McKnight (Couva, Trinidad) was named Brine Colonial Athletic Association co-Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. This is the second time this season McKnight has received this honor with the first accolade coming on Sept. 20. McKnight shares this honor with Virginia Commonwealth's senior goalkeeper Saul Montero.
McKnight scored four goals and tallied one assist to amass nine points for the Patriots. McKnight opened up the scoring against Delaware (Oct. 1) and went on to net his third game-winning goal of the season in the 102nd minute to lift the Patriots to a 3-2 overtime victory Friday evening over the Blue Hens. In Mason's 3-0 win over Towson (Oct. 3), McKnight dished out an assist on the game-winning goal and went on to score the final two goals for the Patriots. McKnight currently sits first among his conference peers in total points with 19 and is tied for third in goals with seven.
The Patriots (6-3-1, 2-0 CAA) host a pair of conference match-ups this weekend as Mason will face UNC Wilmington on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. and will then compete against VCU at 1 p.m. (Oct. 10) at George Mason Stadium.
