HARRRISONBURG, Va. - Junior outside hitter Emilee Hussack (Chambersburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley Christian) posted a match-high 21 kills and James Madison moved into fourth place in the Colonial Athletic Association standings with a four-game victory over George Mason Friday night at JMU's Godwin Hall. The Dukes won with scores of 30-20, 21- 30, 30-18 and 32-30.

The Dukes improved to 5-4 in the CAA, 15-7 overall, and slipped past Mason, which came into the match as the fourth- place team. The Patriots, who beat the Dukes in four games earlier this month, are square at 5-5 in the CAA while posting an overall ledger of 11-8.

Junior setter Krysta Cannon (Cedar Park, Texas/Westfield) became the all-time leader at JMU for career assists when she doled out her 35th of the night. At that point she surpassed Amber Juanrubenis, who had 3,296 while playing for the Dukes from 1990-93. Cannon finished the evening with 52 assists, moving her career total to 3,314.

Hussack, the CAA leader in kills per game with 4.07 going into the match, posted her fourth consecutive contest with 20 or more kills and reached the mark for the sixth time this season. She tallied her 21 on 38 attacks and committed only five errors for an impressive .421 attack rate.

Sophomore middle hitter Ashley Copenhaver (Hedgesville, W.Va./Hedgesville) was the only other JMU player to reach double-figure kills as she tallied 13.

The Patriots were powered by the one-two combination of junior outside hitter Natalia Porosa (Scarborough, Ontario, Canada) and freshman Jaqueline Kohler (Curitba, Brazil) with respective totals of 18 and 15 kills. Junior setter Jessica Umansky (Buenos Aires, Argentina) dished out 52 assists.

The Patriots play a 5 p.m. match Saturday at Virginia Commonwealth, and the Dukes host league-leading Towson at 7 p.m. Towson defeated VCU in three games on Friday to improve to 9-1 in the CAA and 18-7 overall.
