Fairfax, Va.--Junior forward Teba McKnight (Couva, Trinidad) scored two goals and earned an assist Sunday afternoon at George Mason Stadium to help lead the Patriots (6-3-1, 2-0) to a 3-0 win over Towson (5-4-1, 0-2 CAA) for Mason's fifth shut-out of the year.

Forward Kephern Fuller (Jr.; Marietta, Ga.) scored the game-winning goal for the Patriots as he netted his first goal of the season after taking a hard kick from about 10 yards out off of a pass from McKnight to pass Towson's sophomore goalkeeper Greg Flaherty at the 8:26 mark.

In the 62nd minute, McKnight took a pass from senior midfielder Damien Quinn (San Diego, Calif.) and fed it to the rightside 15 yards out from the net to put the Patriots up 2-0. The same duo of McKnight and Quinn teamed up again for the Patriots' third goal as Quinn passed it to McKnight who then dribbled the ball up almost all the way from midfield and then took a shot from the top of the box to sneak it by Flaherty in the 88th minute. McKnight now has a team-leading seven goals and Quinn stands first among his teammates with six helpers.

With the shut-out on the line, Towson took its fourth corner kick of the game with just one second remaining and senior goalkeeper John O'Hara (Foxford, Ireland) solidified his 27th career shut-out as he earned one of his three saves to stop the Tigers from scoring.

Mason dominated on shots as the Patriots amassed 14 to Towson's eight and Mason also earned the advantage on corner kicks with five to the Tigers four.

The Patriots will return to action when they face UNC Wilmington on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. at George Mason Stadium.
