Box Score

WILLIAMSBURG, VA - William and Mary freshman Martin Brady (Largs, Scotland) scored the first goal of his college career, as the Tribe men's soccer team defeated George Mason, 1-0, this evening at Albert-Daly Field.

The College improves to 9-3-3 overall and 4-2-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Patriots drop to 6-8-1 (2-3-0 CAA).

The only goal of the match came in the 37th minute, beginning with a pass from redshirt-freshman Ryan Sells (Manassas, VA) to senior Bryan Hinkle (Fredericksburg, VA). Hinkle then chipped the ball to Brady in the center of the field, who got behind the Mason defense and fired a shot from just inside the box, past the charging Patriots goalkeeper, John O'Hara.

That would be the only goal of the match, as George Mason was unable to take advantage of a five second-half corner kicks and the Tribe defense held on for its fifth shutout of the season.

GMU outshot the Green and Gold, 9-7, and also held a 7-2 lead in corner kicks. W&M sophomore goalkeeper Kris Rake (Flower Mound, TX) made eight saves in the match, while O'Hara stopped four shots for the Patriots.

Mason will play at Old Dominion on Sunday at 2:00 PM.
