FAIRFAX, Va. -- George Mason senior forward Sarah Wilkinson (Lincoln University, Pa.) scored two goals and assisted on another in leading the Patriots to a 3-0 shut out victory over UNC Wilmington in Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer action Friday evening at George Mason Stadium.

The Patriots, who are unbeaten in their last four contests (2-0-2), improve to 7-6-3 on the season and 2-2-2 in the CAA. The Seahawks drop their second straight match and move to 10-4-1 overall (1-4-1 CAA).

Mason controlled the first half on both ends of the field, out shooting UNCW, 12-4. The Patriots recorded their first goal after freshman forward Sarah Fack (Algonquin, Ill.) fed a through ball down the center of the box to Wilkinson, who blasted a shot from 10 yards out into the right corner to give Mason a 1-0 lead at 21:30. Wilkinson's second goal came shortly after sophomore defender Kristine Gray (Stafford, Va.) subbed into the contest. As paly resumed, Gray launched a cross feed to Wilkinson on the right side of the goal. Wilkinson settled the ball and deposited it into the lower left corner of the net in the 30th minute to put the Patriots on top, 2-0.

In the second period, both goalkeepers performed well, making difficult saves throughout the frame. Mason, however, managed one more marker in the 82nd minute off the foot of sophomore midfielder L.J. Williams (Fairfax Station, Va.). Wilkinson fed the ball into Williams in the middle of the field, and Williams launched a shot from 18 yards out over UNCW goalkeeper Rachael Wilson for the Mason's third and final goal of the match.

Patriot senior goalkeeper Sarah Coughlin (Hawthorne, N.Y.) recorded two saves in 64:29 minutes, while sophomore reserve keeper Olivia Brown (Des Moines, Wash.) logged four saves in 25:31 minutes. Wilson stopped six shots for the Seahawks. Mason out shot UNCW, 16-11, on the night. UNCW led in corner kicks, 4-3.

George Mason continues its four-game homestand this Sunday against Va. Commonwealth at 1 p.m.
