George Mason and UNC Wilmington will tip-off for the 50th time this Wednesday. The Patriots head to Wilmington, NC for a 7 p.m. clash against the Seahawks in a game that will be televised live by Time-Warner Cable in North Carolina.
Wednesday's game is the 17th meeting at Trask Coliseum between these two teams where the Patriots (10-4, 3-2 CAA) are 3-13 against the Seahawks (9-6, 5-2 CAA). George Mason has not won at Trask since the 1997-98 season and has lost six straight. Overall, the Patriots are 6-15 in Wilmington versus the Seahawks.
Since the Patriots won 7 of 8 games from 1989-92, UNC Wilmington has gone 19-8 in the series. The Seahawks had won 4 consecutive games in the series before George Mason defeated UNCW, 35-33, in the 2001 CAA Tournament championship game. Mason has won two of the last three meetings and three of the last five contests.
