Dec. 23, 2003

George Mason (6-2) hosts the Atlantic 10s St. Bonaventure (4-4) tonight at 7 p.m. at Patriot Center. The Bonnies have won 2 of their last 3 heading into this evening's contest, and boasts potential all-American candidate Marques Green (23.3 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 3.8 spg, 5.4 apg). George Mason has won five of its last six and is looking to earn its best non-conference winning percentage with a win over SBU.

St. Bonaventure head coach Anthony Solomon was a player for Patriot head coach Jim Larranaga when Larranaga was an assistant at Virginia. When Coach L became the head coach at Bowling Green, Larranaga gave Solomon his first full-time coaching job as one of his BGSU assistants.

Mason, who is 56-10 at the Patriot Center over the past six seasons, trail St. Bonaventure 1-0 in the all-time series. St. Bonaventure has yet to win on the road this season in three games. Mason and St. Bona last met Dec. 28, 1987 at SBU's Reilly Center, with the Bonnies taking a 63-60 win.
