Nov. 4, 2003

Six of George Mason's 27 regular season men's basketball games will be televised live in the mid-Atlantic region, while another two will be shown in North Carolina, giving the Patriots eight television appearances in 2003-04. The Mason women will also have a televised contest.

As part of an agreement between the Colonial Athletic Association and its television partners, six George Mason men's and one women's basketball game will be televised live on Comcast SportsNet (CSN) in Maryland, D.C., Virginia, Southern Pennsylvania and parts of West Virginia. CSN is available from your local cable provider or through DirecTV and Dish Network. Please check your local listings for the channel in your area.

Mason's television schedule tips off with a key regional battle between the Patriots and the Maryland Terrapins, who are ranked 25th nationally in the preseason ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll released Oct. 30. Mason will face the Terps Tuesday evening, Nov. 25, at 8 p.m. in the Comcast Center. Twelve days later, the Patriots take on another Atlantic Coast Conference foe in North Carolina, listed 10th in the preseason Coaches' poll, Sunday, Dec. 7, at 1 p.m. in the Dean Smith Center. Both games will also be broadcast live on Fox Sports Net South.

The Patriots will be one of the featured teams on four occasions in the SunTrust CAA Game of the Week, beginning with Mason's Jan. 17 contest at Virginia Commonwealth at 4 p.m. The Green and Gold's first home TV game occurs Saturday, Jan. 31, versus William & Mary at 2 p.m. One week later, the Patriots visit the Dukes of James Madison at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7. Finally, Drexel makes an appearance at the Patriot Center Saturday, Feb. 14, at 7 p.m. The Tribe and JMU contests will also be shown on the Metro Channel in New York, while the game versus the Dragons will also be televised on Comcast SportsNet's sister station in Philadelphia as well as the Metro Channel.

Time-Warner Cable in North Carolina will feature George Mason in its two matchups against UNC Wilmington, starting Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. in Wilmington and Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m. in Fairfax.

The George Mason women's basketball game set for Sunday, Feb. 29, at 3 p.m. against 12-time defending CAA champion Old Dominion can also be seen on CSN.

CSN will also feature both CAA tournament semifinal contests Sunday, Mar. 7, while the CAA Championship game will be broadcast live on ESPN Monday, Mar. 8, at 7 p.m.

This season, the CAA anticipates approximately 47 men's games and nine women's games to be televised among its four broadcast partners: Madison Square Garden Network; Comcast Philadelphia; Comcast Mid-Atlantic (Baltimore/Washington/Virginia) & Fox Sports South (NC to Ga.). Collectively, these partners deliver to at least 24 million viewers and many of the CAA games will be carried on several of the networks stretching down the east coast from metro New York to Georgia. In addition, at least one regular season game will be featured on ESPN.
