FAIRFAX, VA ... Junior Sarah Wilkinson scored two goals and junior Franmarie Gregg had two assists to lead George Mason to a 3-2 victory over Drexel on "Senior Day" in a Colonial Athletic Association women's college soccer game Saturday at George Mason Stadium.

George Mason stopped a six-game winless streak with the victory as they improved to 8-6-5 overall, 3-3-3 in the CAA. Drexel lost its fifth straight game and finished the year at 3-15 overall, 0-9 in the CAA.

With Delaware's 2-0 victory at UNC Wilmington and Virginia Commonwealth's 2-1 victory over Towson today, the Patriots have earned the sixth and final berth in the CAA Tournament next week. George Mason will travel to No. 3 seed Delaware on Tuesday, Nov. 4, to meet the Fightin' Blue Hens at 3 p.m.

Drexel scored first at 19:59 as freshman Stacey Blevins touched off a pass to junior Katie Kane, who drilled a 12-yard shot inside the left post for her sixth goal of the year. George Mason scored the equalizer nearly 20 minutes later as Wilkinson took passes from Gregg and freshman L.J. Williams and sent a 15-yard shot inside the right post at 39:33. Wilkinson recorded the second multi-goal game of her career at 43:05 as she again took a pass from Gregg and found the net from 12 yards out for her fifth goal of the season and a 2-1 Patriot lead at halftime.

Sophomore Amy Alecci scored her fifth goal for Mason at 53:34 off an assist from senior Cara Patton to lift the Patriot lead to 3-1, but the Dragons did not quit. Blevins touched in a rebound of a saved shot by senior Sandra Ackerman at 62:22 for her ninth goal of the year, but that was as close as Drexel would get.

Freshman goalkeeper Melissa Stuhler had six saves for Drexel, while Patriot junior Sarah Coughlin recorded three saves. Mason held a 21-8 advantage in shots.
