WASHINGTON, DC...Junior outside hitter Aline Pereira's 21 kills helped lead the George Mason Patriots to a 3-0 (32-30, 30-25, 34-32) win over the Georgetown University Hoyas in women's volleyball action on Tuesday, October 1, in McDonough Gym.
The victory extended the Patriots' win streak to eight matches and improved their overall record to 12-3 (6-0 CAA). The Hoyas drop to 9-7 (1-1 BIG EAST) on the season.
Pereira hit .267 (21 kills, 9 errors, 45 attempts) for the match and also had nine digs, two blocks and two assists.
In addition to Pereira, senior middle blocker Amy Falk posted nine kills, while junior outside hitter Milena Racic and freshman outside hitter Natalia Porosa ended the three-game match with eight kills apiece.
Georgetown was paced by outside hitter Lauren Warner, who tied Pereira with 21 kills.
The Hoyas hit .316 for the match to the Patriots' .240. Georgetown also held a 9-3 advantage in team blocks.
Mason returns to CAA action this weekend, hosting Hofstra Saturday at 5 p.m. and Drexel Sunday at 3 p.m.
