BALTIMORE (AP) - Raoul Heinen led four George Mason players in double
figures with a career-high 18 points, 12 in the second half, as the Patriots
spoiled Coppin State's home debut, 68-45, Wednesday night.
George Mason (2-3) held the Eagles scoreless over the first eight minutes of
the second period to turn a 28-26 halftime advantage into a 17-point lead and
take control of the game.
Jai Lewis scored five points and Heinen and Mark Davis hit three-pointers,
as the Patriots tallied 15 straight points to open the second half.
Heinen also had five assists, and Davis finished with 17 points while
canning five of seven three-point attempts.
Tucker led Coppin, which begins conference play Saturday at Morgan State,
with 19 points and eight rebounds. The 0-5 start is Coppin's worst since going
0-6 to open the 1999-2000 season.
