Junior outside hitter Aline Pereira had 17 kills and hit .481, and freshman outside hitter Natalia Porosa had 13 kills and hit .765 to lead the George Mason Patriots to a 3-0 victory over the Drexel Dragons in Colonial Athletic Association volleyball Friday night at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
George Mason (19-7, 13-2 CAA) hit .522 as a team, the third-highest match total in Patriot history, and held Drexel (11-17, 3-10 CAA) to a .059 hitting percentage, as the Patriots swept the match, 30-15, 30-14, 30-20.
Sophomore setter Jesica Umansky led George Mason with match-high marks in assists (39) and digs (12).
Junior outside hitter Barbara Fuchs led the Dragons with six kills while hitting .286. Junior outside hitter Angela Tassone (Seaford, N.Y./Holy Trinity) also contributed six kills. Junior setter Gina Campanile (Franklin Lakes N.J./Paramus Catholic) led Drexel in assists with 20.
