George Mason women's volleyball player Natalia Porosa (Scarborough, Ontario) was selected CAA Rookie of the Week Monday after falling just one dig shy of recording three double-doubles this past week.
The freshman outside hitter had 40 kills, 39 digs and six total blocks as the Patriots, who have now won seven straight matches, went 3-0 this past week with wins over Maryland, Towson and Delaware. Mason is now 11-3 overall and 6-0 in the CAA, which tops the league.
For her double-doubles, Porosa had 12 kills and 16 digs against Maryland and 13 kills and 14 digs at Delaware. She narrowly missed her third double-double with 15 kills and nine digs at Towson.
The Patriots head to Georgetown Tuesday for a non-conference match against the Hoyas and then host Hofstra and Drexel in CAA action this weekend. The Hofstra match is Saturday at 5 p.m., while Drexel is Sunday at 3 p.m.
