Alex Myers begins her first season as volunteer assistant coach with the Patriots for the 2017 season.
Myers, a native of Centreville, Va., played in 40 games with 39 starts in her career with the Patriots. She scored 10 goals and added 11 assists for 31 points in her two years with Mason.
Myers scored five goals and had a team-high seven assists during the 2015 season in her first year at Mason. She played in and started 20 games during the 2016 season and led the team and tied for seventh in the A-10 with 52 shots. Myers finished the 2016 season tied for third on the team with five goals and was also third on the squad with four assists and 14 points.
A two-time Atlantic 10 Conference selection, Myers was named Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team midfielder in 2016, becoming the first women’s soccer player to earn A-10 First Team honors since Mason joined the conference in 2013.
Prior to joining the Patriots, Myers played at the University of South Florida. She played at Centreville High School, where she was selected First Team All-Met, All-Region and All-District and was named 2011 Player of the Year.
Myers participated in ODP National Development Camp in 2011 and was selected for the U.S. Soccer Training Center in 2010 and 2011.
