Freshman forward Martim Sereno was selected Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
 
Sereno, from Mira de Aire, Portugal, started the scoring against Howard on Saturday, Sept. 7, when he found the back of the net in the 28th minute from 15 yards out in the penalty area.  He then picked up an assist on the game-winning goal in the 88th minute of play in the Patriots 4-3 win over the Bison. 
 
In the Patriots first game of the week, Sereno assisted on the game-winning goal and played 70 minutes in George Mason's 1-0 victory over Bucknell on Sept. 3.

Sereno leads the team with three assists, is tied for first on the club with seven points and is tied for second with two goals on the season.
