Lucas put up solid all-around numbers during a three-match week for the Patriots, with two against ranked opponents. The sophomore middle blocker had four kills and three blocks in a 3-0 loss to then-No. 2 UCLA on Jan. 31. On Feb. 3, he had five kills on an error-free seven swings to hit .714 with three blocks against then-No. 14 Lewis, a 3-0 win which was GMU’s first victory of the season. He followed the next night with 10 kills on .421 hitting with a season-high eight blocks and an ace in a 3-2 loss to Purdue Fort Wayne. His three-match totals saw 19 kills on .371 hitting, 14 blocks, two digs and an ace.
