Matt Collins enters his second year as the bullpen catcher with the Patriots for the 2024 season. He was a four-year letterwinner at McLean High School, where he won all-district honors his freshman, junior and senior years as well as all-region honors his senior year. Collins played baseball at Harford Community College and then transferred to Mason in the fall of 2018 to continue his academic career. In the spring of 2021, he was selected by the Birmingham-Bloomfield Beavers in the USPBL draft following their spring tryout. Collins finished the season with a .286 batting average and .400 on-base percentage as well as a 1.000 fielding percentage. The spring of 2023 was Matt’s first season with the Mason baseball team where he served as the bullpen catcher for the Atlantic 10 Conference Champions.
