Jay Lozano joined the George Mason men’s basketball staff in fall 2023 and was promoted to graduate manager in summer 2024.
During his first season with the Patriots, Lozano worked on the undergraduate manager staff while helping lead the program to its first top-100 ranking since 2010-11. He assisted with travel and business operations, distributed equipment and gear and cut film for team scouting.
Lozano came to Fairfax from Xavier, where he served as head student manager for the Musketeers’ women’s basketball program from 2021-23. He oversaw the team’s manager staff while managing travel, video and statistics operations, in addition to other support roles with the coaching staff.
Lozano graduated magna cum laude from Xavier in 2023 with a degree in sport management.
While at Xavier, he also worked as a camp instructor for the men’s program and assisted with summer camps for the men’s and women’s programs at Stanford University in summer 2023.
Lozano has worked in event management for a number of basketball organizations, including The Basketball Tournament (TBT) and the Hoop Group Jam Fest Tournament. He also has served as an intern for Transfer Tapes, which creates highlight videos for basketball student-athletes across the country.
A native of San Jose, California, Lozano served as varsity golf captain at Bellarmine College Prep and also was a member of the club golf team at Xavier. He resides in Fairfax.
