Erica King

Erica L. King, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral researcher in the Patriot Performance Lab at George Mason University and conducts research in collaboration with the Applied Biosensing Lab in the Bioengineering Department. Her research focuses on translating engineering innovations into practical tools for athlete health and performance monitoring. She specializes in wearable ultrasound technology for rehabilitation, and her dissertation was titled “ Wearable Ultrasound Sensors for Neuromuscular Monitoring after Injury”. Erica has presented her research at numerous domestic and international conferences and has published multiple articles. 
 
As former NCAA Division I student-athlete on the Mason Swimming & Diving team, Erica earned her B.S. in Bioengineering from George Mason University in 2021 and completed her Ph.D. in Bioengineering in 2025. Her work bridges the gap between engineering and sports science, emphasizing practitioner-centered design and technology adoption in real-world athletic settings.
