Faith Brown, PhD is the Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning at George Mason University and conducts research in collaboration with the Patriot Performance Lab. She directs the strength training, conditioning, and nutrition for women's basketball and women’s volleyball. In the Patriot Performance Lab, she collaborates with affiliate faculty and PhD students to conduct sports performance research. Her research focuses on load monitoring in team sports, and her dissertation was titled “Comprehensive Load Monitoring in NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Athletes.” Faith also has numerous research articles published in top journals including the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.

Prior to arriving at George Mason, Brown worked with a variety of sports at Georgetown University and was the head Strength and Conditioning coach at The Potomac School overseeing all sports. While completing her Master’s degree in Health and Movement Science at Virginia Commonwealth University (Richmond, VA) she completed sports performance internships at the University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to her time in Richmond, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree at Shaw University (Raleigh, NC) where she competed as an indoor and outdoor sprinter.
 
Faith currently competes in the sport of Crossfit and has peaked with a ranking within the top 4% of women CrossFit athletes worldwide. In her spare time, she enjoys training for Crossfit, brunching in DC, riding her motorcycle and spending time with her rescue dog, Sammie.
 
Originally from Hampton, Va., Brown is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC), and USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach (USAW-L1SP).
