Douglas Beavers

Doug Beavers enters his first year with the Patriots for the 2023-24 season.
 
Beavers is a nationally recognized professional diving coach with experience and expertise at every level of the sport.  Since graduating from George Mason in 1992, he has established himself in the local, national, and international diving community as an exceptional communicator, a champion of professional ethics and a consistent producer of NCAA Division I divers.
 
Beavers has successfully guided athletes in NCAA, NAIA, USA Diving and AAU competition over the past 35 years, capturing numerous national titles and developing many of the top Division I talents in the country.
 
A Mason alum, Beavers earned a B.A. in English Composition from George Mason University, 1992.
 
Beavers begin coaching at the Northern Virginia Dive Club in 1988.  In 1994 he moved to Columbia, S.C. to serve as assistant diving coach at University of South Carolina.  
 
In 1996 he was tasked with forming a youth diving program for the City of St. Peters, Mo.  The St. Peters team exploded into prominence in USA Diving, quickly becoming a top producer of NCAA diving talent.
 
In 2010, Beavers was hired to lead the largest youth diving program in the country, the Montgomery Dive Club.  He served as program director for MDC for 10 years, producing many top collegiate diving recruits and capturing multiple top-10 team finishes in the USA Diving Junior National Championships.
 
A Northern Virginia native, Beavers lives in Burke, Va. with his wife Beth.  His two children, William and Caeden, attend Virginia Commonwealth University.
