Brittany Ward

Brittany Ward is an assistant coach and Director of Recruiting for the George Mason women’s basketball program. She was promoted to these roles ahead of the 2024–25 season after serving two years as a graduate assistant and one year as assistant director of player development on head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis’s staff.

Since joining the program, Ward has played a key role in recruiting the next generation of Patriots and developing the team’s post players. Her impact has been instrumental in the program’s historic rise—helping guide George Mason from a zero-conference win team to Atlantic 10 Champions in just four years. The 2024–25 season marked a major milestone as the Patriots captured their first-ever A-10 Championship and earned the program’s first NCAA Tournament berth.

Ward was a standout student-athlete at the University of Dayton from 2016 to 2020, where she helped lead the Flyers to four consecutive postseason appearances, including three NCAA Tournament bids. During her career, Dayton captured three Atlantic 10 regular season championships and two conference tournament titles. Ward shot over 40 percent from the field and averaged 2.2 rebounds per game.

Academically, Ward excelled with a 4.0 GPA and was recognized at the 2020 scholar-athlete awards banquet. She also served on Dayton’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in media production from Dayton and earned her master’s in sport management with a concentration in leadership from George Mason.

A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Ward began her collegiate playing career at Butler University, where she was named Big East Preseason Freshman of the Year.
