Camden Eppert

Camden Eppert joined the Mason wrestling coaching staff in May 2018. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach beginning with the 2023-24 season.

In the first two seasons, Eppert helped guide the Patriots to back-to-back nine-win seasons, including a 9-7 mark in 2018-19, their best season in 11 years. Mason finished the season with a winning dual record for the first time since the 2007-08 season.

The Patriots finished third at the 2019 Eastern Wrestling League Championships with 56.5 points, the highest finish in the EWL Championships in program history.  Six Mason wrestlers reached the evening session, with four in the championship match and two competing in third-place matches. 

Mason redshirt senior Tejon Anthony claimed the first EWL title in program history, winning the championship at 149 pounds, while redshirt senior Matthew Voss placed second at 285 pounds, redshirt sophomore Eli Spencer placed second at 197 pounds and freshman Kolby Ho placed second at 157 pounds.

The Patriots had three wrestlers qualify for the 2019 NCAA Championships for the second straight year, with Voss (285), Anthony (149) and redshirt junior Colston DiBlasi (165) representing Mason at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa.
 
Prior to Mason, Eppert spent two years as a volunteer assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin.  With the Badgers, he assisted in recruiting, student-athlete development and helped establish the Badger Regional Training Center (RTC) for post-graduate athletes.
 
Eppert helped Wisconsin earn a sixth place Big Ten finish in 2017-18 and an eighth-place finish in 2016-17.  While at Wisconsin, Eppert helped establish a consistent top-20 team in the country each year.  During his tenure with the Badgers, he coached 16 NCAA qualifiers and three NCAA All-Americans.
 
Prior to coaching at Wisconsin, Eppert spent the 2015-16 season at the USA Wrestling Regional Training Center in Madison, training and learning under University of Iowa great, Barry Davis.
 
Before joining the RTC, Eppert spent the 2014-15 season as assistant wrestling coach and assistant strength and conditioning coach at Wabash College.  He helped guide the team to a third-place finish at the NCAA D3 Championships and worked with two National Champions and two All-Americans.
 
A native of Anderson, Ind., Eppert was a two-time NCAA National Qualifier (2011, 2012) and four-time Big Ten Championships placewinner (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014) in his four years at Purdue.  Eppert was also an Asics University Freestyle All-American. 
 
Eppert was team captain of the Boilermakers for three season and his pursuit of excellence extended beyond the mat and into the classroom.  He earned the Big Ten Conference Distinguished Scholar Award and the Team Player Award in 2014.  The 125-pounder was also a four-time Academic All-Big Ten and three-time NWCA All-Academic selection. Cam is on track to graduate with an MBA from George Mason after the fall 2023 semester.
 
Eppert attained his bachelor’s degree in public health promotions from Purdue University in 2014.  He earned his master’s degree in Kinesiology from University of Wisconsin in 2017.

Cam resides in Centreville, Va  with his wife Courtney, daughter Pepper, and dog Moose.
