Personal History

2018 Outdoor: Competed in eight meets...Posted five top-10 finishes...Notched a fifth place finish in the 100m hurdles at the Dan Stimson Memorial Quad...Registered an eighth place finish in the 100m hurdles at the Raleigh Relays.

2018 Indoor: Competed in seven meets...Posted three top-five finishes...Tallied a fourth place finish in the 60m hurdles at the Father Diamond Invitational...Placed a fifth place finish in the 60m hurdles at the Navy Winter Invitational...Recorded a first place finish in the 60m hurdles at the Patriot Games.

2017 Outdoor: Competed in seven meets…Posted a season-best time of 27.17 in the 200m at the Michael Johnson Invitational (April 22)…Finished fourth in the 100m hurdles at the Atlantic 10 Championships (May 6-7) with a time of 14.53…Recorded a season-best time of 14.52 in the 100m hurdles at the IC4A/ECAC Championships (May 12).

2017 Indoor: Competed in seven meets…Finished fourth in the 60m hurdles at the Atlantic 10 Championships (Feb. 18-19)…Posted a personal-best time of 8.67 in the preliminary round of the 60m hurdles at the Atlantic 10 Championships (Feb. 18-19)…Recorded  a season-best time of 27.04 in the 200-meter run at the Liberty Kick Off (Jan. 20-21).

2016 Outdoor: Competed in five meets for the Patriots... Finished fourth in the 4x1 relay at the Stanford Invitational (Apr. 1-2) with a time of 47.45... Third in the 100m hurdles at the Lions Invitational (Apr. 29-30) with a time of 14.74... Fourth in the preliminary 100m hurdles at the Atlantic 10 Championships (May 7-8) with a time of 14.53.  

2016 Indoor: Competed in six meets for the Patriots... Set a personal-best mark in the preliminary 55m hurdles at the Crimson Elite (8.39)... A personal-best mark in the preliminary 60m hurdles at the Atlantic 10 Championship (8.96)... Finished fifth in the 60m hurdles at the Atlantic 10 Championship (Feb. 20-21) with a time of 8.97.

2015 Outdoor: Competed in five meets for the Patriots…Helped Mason to an Outdoor Atlantic 10 Title with a sixth place finish in the 100m hurdles…Set a personal record in the 100m hurdles (14.20) and 200m dash (25.67) at the Michael Johnson Classic..Finished ninth in the 100m hurdles preliminary run with a personal record time of 14.07.

2015 Indoor: Competed in five meets for the Patriots in her first season with the Patriots…Finished first in the 60m hurdles at the Father Diamond Invitational. 

Prep: Lettered in several sports while at Woodrow Wilson Senior High School, earning four in track and field and one in cross country. Earned several awards and recognitions while there including: Indoor Track and Field MVP (junior year); 2014 Washington Post First Team All-Met for Outdoor Track; 2014 Gatorade Athlete of the Year (DC); 2014 Woodrow Wilson Senior High School Athlete of the Year; 2014 100m hurdle city and state champion (indoor & outdoor); 2013/14 Back-to-back MVP at Draper Invitational. 

Personal: Daughter of Cedrick Heyward Sr. and Donna Diggs, Deonna has four siblings, Cedrick, Tavon, Taniyan and Kamryn. Enjoys modeling and volunteering at marathons and helping kids. Plans to major in criminology.
