Bobby Kestyn is joining the George Mason Coaching staff as a first year assistant coach, where he will be working with the Throws and Multis groups.
Kestyn was a member of the George Mason team from 2019-2024 where he refined his craft of throwing. Out of the 5 events he threw he is on all 5 top 10 lists including a school record in the discus of 55.20m, number 2 all time in the hammer with a 60.29 and number 4 all time in the weight throw with 18.49. He was a 3 time medalist at the atlantic 10 conference outdoor meet and 3 time medalist at the IC4A outdoor meet. He made it to the east preliminary qualifier in the discus, was A-10 all conference and A-10 most valuable field athlete.
Growing up in Fairfax, Virginia he felt right at home coming to George Mason where he earned his undergraduate degree in cybersecurity engineering in 2024. He also graduated with a minor in coaching which he will put to good use here at George Mason.
