Elizabeth Hilton joined the George Mason women's rowing staff as an assistant coach in fall 2017.
Hilton comes to Mason from Nova Southeastern University where she worked with the Div. II powerhouse program. From 2015-17, Hilton coordinated the novice rowing program while handling travel logistics and additional aspects of the program. She mentored her Novice 4+ boat to a Dad Vail Regatta bid in 2016 and also mentored her Dad Vail Women’s Pair to a semifinal berth.
“I want to thank George Mason University for this opportunity,” Hilton said. “I’m excited to implement my training methods here at Mason with our novice program and see where we can find some free speed. I’m very excited to work with the young women that make up our team. Ted and Joe have recruited a great group for me to work with and this is a staff I am proud to be a part of. This program has so much potential and I look forward to us striving towards new accomplishments.”
In addition to her time in Fort Lauderdale, Hilton also worked with the Annapolis Junior Rowing Association in Annapolis as a novice/junior coach and served a year as a volunteer assistant at Indiana University working with Hoosier rowers.
Hilton rowed collegiately at Washington College in Maryland, where she earned her degree in political science in 2014. She rowed in the program’s Varsity 8+ boat in her final three seasons while helping lead the squad to two MARC Championships and two top-6 finishes at the NCAA Championship.
Hilton received her MBA from Nova Southeastern in 2017.
