Biography

2019: Made the transition from shortstop to right field…Appeared in 33 games for the Patriots, making 25 starts…Tallied 13 hits and 14 runs…Drew 12 walks…Tied her career-high three RBIs vs. Towson (March 27)…Drew a career-high three walks against South Dakota (Feb. 15)…Went 2-for-3 vs. Saint Francis with a RBI…Finished 2-for-4 at the plate with a run at Saint Joseph’s (April 13).

2018: Started in 45 of 50 games for the Patriots at the shortstop position... One of nine Patriots to hit a home run, with hers coming as an inside-the-park roundtripper... Second on team in walks (18), second on team in stolen bases (10)... Set a personal best with a .327 OBP on the season... Lead the Patriots in bases on balls (2) against Charleston Southern (Feb. 24)...Recorded a RBI single and run scored against Syracuse (March 18)...Tallied her first home run of the season in a win vs. Georgetown (April 11)...Accumulated three RBIs and recorded a career high four hits in a win at St. Bonaventure (April 15)...Recorded an RBI single in a victory at La Salle while posting career highs in runs scored and walks (April 21)... Went 1-for-3 at UMass (May 5)...

2017: Played in 47 games as a freshman for the Patriots, starting all of them…finished with a batting average of .248 on 121 at-bats, producing 30 hits and 5 RBI, including seven two-hit games…scored 19 runs for Mason, including career-high two runs against Columbia (March 17) and St. Bonaventure (April 23). Aker finished the season with 86 putouts on the defensive end, had four in nine games this season…the Vienna, Va. native reached base safely in 23 games.

Prep: Madison Aker played four years of softball in high school and was named All-Conference Shortstop for the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference for her entire at Paul VI HIgh School. As a captain of the Panthers in her senior year, Aker led the team in batting average, walks, and stolen bases for third season in a row. In addition, her batting average of .642 and .720 on-base percentage were best in the WCAC and earned her her fourth All-Conference Shortstop honor, her second First Team All-State appearance, and a place on the Second Team All-Met.

Personal: Daughter of Mike and Jackie Aker and the younger sister of former William and Mary - and now professional - baseball player Mitch Aker. Madison chose Mason over several other Virginia schools and will major in business marketing.
