Megan Griffith

Megan Griffith is entering her second season as a softball assistant coach in 2020-21. She joins the Patriots from the University of California San Diego where she served as a softball assistant coach for two years.

At UC San Diego, she was responsible for all aspects of orchestrating a successful and competitive collegiate program including: promoting a safe and inclusive environment for athletes from diverse backgrounds, warranting academic success at a nationally ranked public school and computing accurate scouting reports. 

UC San Diego claimed the 2019 regular season conference championship, 2019 All-West Regional Championship and 2019 Super Regional Championship for a berth to the 2019 NCAA Division II College World Series. She was named to the 2019 NFCA All-West Region Staff of the Year.

As head hitting and pitching instructor, she improved the team’s batting average from .238 to .311 (’17-18) and the pitching staff’s ERA from 2.54 to 2.20 (’18-19). She coached five players to conference pitcher awards. Under her assistance, the pitching staff recorded the program’s first no-hitter and posted five shutout victories.

An infielder, Griffith played her final two collegiate seasons at Middle Tennessee State University. There, she earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athlete honors, and was also named to the Dean's List.

Prior to Middle Tennessee State, she played one season at Gulf Coast State College (Panama City, Fla.), where she led the team in doubles and home runs. She was named First Team All-Conference after posting 57 RBIs, 110 total bases and 23 extra base hits.

A native of Erwin, Tenn., Griffith is a graduate from Middle Tennessee State, where she earned her degree in exercise science August 2016.
