2011 Outdoor: Competed in nine events, including the decathlon... Won the CAA Championship in the decathlon... Season-best in the decathlon came at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational with 6,479 points... Had best meet of the season at the Mason Spring Invitational, setting five season-bests... Threw the discus 31.64 meters... Recorded a 10.07 in the shot put... In the 110-meter hurdles, recorded a time of 15.85... Threw the javelin 43.15 meters and knotched a 1.94 in the high jump... At the VCU Invite, leapt 6.29 meters in the long jump... Ran the 200m at the Colonial Relays in 24.02.

2011 Indoor: A multi-event athlete, he competed in four events in addition to the heptathlon… Had the team’s best mark in the heptathlon as well as the high jump… Was second on the team in the 60m hurdles… Posted a total of 4,723 points in the heptathlon at the Patriot Games… At the Virginia Tech Invitational, cleared 1.96 meters in the high jump… Ran an 8.39 in the 60-meter hurdles at the Father Diamond Invitational… Also competed in the long jump and pole vault… In the long jump, leaped 6.34 meters at the Vince Brown Invitational… In the pole vault, cleared 4.10 meters at the Last Chance Meet.

2010 Outdoor: Competed in the decathlon at the CAA Championships, finishing with 5,139 points including a first-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles ... Recorded his fastest time in that event at the JMU Invitational, a mark of 15.66 ... Also competed in the high jump and long jumps, with season-best marks of 1.94 and 6.33 meters at the Colonial Relays and Mason Spring Invitational, respectively ... Ran on Mason's 4x400-meter relay at the Mason Quadrangular.

2010 Indoor: Showed his versatility by competing in four different events during the season - the high jump, the long jump, the 60-meter hurdles and the pentathlon... Scored 2,992 points in the pentathlon at the CNU Captain's Invitational.

2009 Outdoor: Competed in eight events during the season... Finished third in the high jump (1.95m) and fifth in the decathlon (5,496) at the CAA Championships (Apr. 18)... Four of his season-bests came at the UVA Spring Swashbuckle (Mar. 21): 100-meters (12.04), 200-meters (24.47), long jump (6.37m) and javelin (43.60m)... Set a season-best of 53.73 in the 400-meters at the Colonial Relays (Apr. 3)... Covered a distance of 8.99 meters in the shot put at the Towson Invitational (Mar. 28).

2006 Outdoor: Finished second in the triple jump at the Mason Spring Open Invitational, bounding 13.67 meters... Placed second in the high jump at the CAA Championships, jumping 1.85 meters... Also competed in the triple jump at the CAA Championships, jumping 13.63 meters... Posted his best jump in the triple jump at the Patriot Open Invitational, leaping 13.85 meters.

2006 Indoor: Did not compete at any meets.

Prep: Lettered in four sports at Mount Vernon High School - golf, swimming, baseball and track... Was named first-team Northern Region in the triple jump in 2005... Three-time MVP of the Mount Vernon High School men's team... All-Region in the high jump... Fifth in the Va. State Triple Jump senior year... Youth All-American in the decathlon as a senior... Was first in the nation in the decathlon at the 2005 Youth Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Knoxville, Tenn.

Personal: Parents are Bradley and Marilyn Wellington... Has one sister, Anne, and two brothers, Eric and Jason... Eric was a member of the George Mason swimming and diving team from 2003-2006... A 2005 graduate of Mount Vernon High School... Major is undeclared.
