2024-25:  JJ was third on the team in scoring average, adjusted average and vs. Par average, 74.25, 74.00, and 2.53 v. Par... One of four golfers to play in all 12 tournaments... Finished in the top 25 in four tournaments... Best finish was 16th (74-70-70=214) at the Howard Invitational held at Manor Country Club... Five eagle was third best on the team this season behind McMeans and Davidov with six each...

2023-24:  Led Mason at the 2024 A10 Championship with a top-15 finish in his first appearance at the conference tournament, firing a four-under-par 68—his best round of the event—on the 7,068-yard, par-72 Cypress Course...  Earned six t-25 finishes... Powell had three top 25 finishes during the fall season, including 13th at the Red Bandana Invitational... He led led the Patriots with a t-17 place finish with a two-under-par 214 (70-68-76) at the USF Invitational... In Spring 2024, Powell was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week after two top 10 finishes... Powell (73-70-70=213) finished eighth at the fourth annual Donald Ross Collegiate Classic in Southern Pines, N.C.... Powell helped the Patriots earn runner-up honors at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate with a fourth-place (73-72-68=213) finish, the best in his first collegiate year... Played in the 2024 PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship (PWCC), the most culturally significant championship in collegiate golf...Powell finished 14th overall (79-75-77=231).
 

Prep:  Virginia’s 2022 high school player of the year.. Played his prep golf for St. Christopher’s School, a private school renowned for its golf prowess... Captain of the team as a senior, Powell earned five varsity letters and finished in the top-15 each of four seasons (no tournament in 2020) in the VISSAA D1 Virginia State Championship, including a top finish in 2022.... Earned all-prep and all-state honors in two seasons.... Juniors:  Powell earned top-10 honors in multiple AJGA events... At 16 in 2020, he captured the 72nd Richmond Golf Association Boys’ Junior Amateur Championship title....shot a 70-74 over the two-day, 36-hole event held at Jefferson Lakeside Country Club.... Powell best round was at the 68^th Virginia State Golf Association Junior Stroke Play Championship in 2020, posting a 7-under-par 63 at James River Country Club in the opening round.... Finished Top-5 in 2021 VSGA Junior Stroke Play.... In March 2023, Powell and Rylan Shim (University of Florida commit) erased a two-stroke deficit before holding on for a one-shot victory at the 10th MAPGA/VSGA Junior Four-Ball Championship at Hobbs Hole Golf Course.... Powell was ranked top-250 Overall in 2023 Class and selected George Mason over Richmond, VCU, Virginia Tech, Rutgers, and William & Mary.

Personal:  Parents are Jimmy and Minni Powell... Jaya and Neaz are siblings... Plans to major in Finance.
