PREP: Attended Blacksburg High School where he earned one varsity letter in football, two in basketball and three in baseball with the Bruins… Finalist for Roanoke/Salem Hall of Fame Player of the Year… Named First Team All-District catcher, Second Team All-Region catcher… Selected Defensive Player of the Year in basketball… Was also named a B’Nai B’rith Most Outstanding Student Athlete finalist and Freshman All-District HM catcher… Had a .426 batting average and .907 slugging percentage… Also played the club U.S. Elite, where he was selected to the All-Tournament Team at the Coastal World Series. 
 
PERSONAL: Son Meredith and James… Has two siblings, Brody and Sullivan… Mother, Meredith, played volleyball at Virginia Tech and his grandfather, Dave Braine, played football at North Carolina… Hobbies included reading.
