Biography

PRIOR TO MASON: Played two years at the University of Dayton (2022, 2023)… 

2023 (Senior): Played in 48 games with 47 starts in his final year with the Flyers… Led the team in batting average (.365), doubles (13), runs scored (46), OPS (1.064) and on-base percentage (.456)… Finished the season 66-for-181 (.365) with nine home runs, 13 doubles, two triples, 33 RBI and 46 runs scored… Walked 23 times, was hit by a pitch 10 times and struck out only 11 times… Went 5-for-10 in stolen base attempts… Recorded Dayton's lone five-hit game of the season including a pair of doubles and a home run at Northern Kentucky (April 11) in a 12-9 loss In Highland Height, Ky.… Also had two four-hit games on the season, including going 4-for-5 with a double, RBI and two runs scored at Ohio State (March 19) in a 12-8 loss to the Buckeyes at Bill Davis Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
 
2022 (Junior): Played in 39 games with 38 starts… Finished the season 38-for-147 (.259) with one home run, six doubles, 26 RBI and 25 runs scored… Walked 19 times, was hit by a pitch 11 times and stuck out only 26 times, the fewest of all qualified players on the team… Went 6-for-10 in stolen base attempts… Ranked fifth on the team with a .259 batting average… Ranked fourth on the team in RBI (26) and on-base percentage (.382)… Made his Dayton debut on Feb. 17 at North Carolina A&T and drove in his first run on a hit by pitch and picked up his first hit in a Flyers uniform with a double to right field… Hit .500 and drove in five runs to help the Flyers sweep three games at against North Carolina A&T in the opening series of the season (Feb. 18-20) in Greensboro, N.C.… Hit his first career home run to account for the Flyers lone run of the game in a 12-1 loss at Kentucky (April 26) at Kentucky Proud Park in Lexington, Ky.
 
Played at Mineral Area College in NJCAA (2018-21)… Hit .549 during the shortened 2020 season… Helped the Cardinals win the conference in 2021 and finished the season with a .427 batting average… Selected All-Conference and All-Region in 2021.
 
PREP: Attended Sinclair Secondary School where he earned four varsity letters in baseball with the Celtics.
 
PERSONAL: Son of Karen and Chris… Has two siblings, Peyton and Matt… Father, Chris, was a coach for Team Canada’s softball team in the Olympics… Brother, Matt, was drafted in the 28th round of the 2016 MLB draft by the Minnesota Twins… General Studies major.
